A Using an IRA Distribution to Make aN Impact

Bonnie Sloan and her late husband Ed have been involved with Buyamba for many years, sponsoring children and supporting the effort to educate and disciple orphaned and needy students at God Cares School in Uganda. Bonnie has been volunteering with Buyamba for almost 10 years. She had the blessing of visiting the school and meeting her sponsored child in 2013.
When Bonnie found out that she could take advantage of numerous tax benefits by making a Qualifying Charitable Distribution directly from her traditional IRA, she was on it. (A QCD excludes the amount donated from gross taxable income.) Following the rules, she made a donation with the check coming directly from her IRA trustee to her favorite charity, Buyamba.

Bonnie says, "Giving to Buyamba is a blessing because I believe in what God Cares School is doing. I have been there and seen it all with my own eyes. I know that the ministry does what it says it does and the money I give really does go to help these children."

Share Buyamba ... A Call to Buyamba Ambassadors

It is clear that God moves on the hearts of people to care for his children who are orphaned or in desperate situations. There are many sponsors and donors who have been with Buyamba for years and who are very passionate about sharing the love of Christ with these children. If you fit this profile, the “Share Buyamba” invitation is for you. We are looking for ambassadors that will carry the call to others who do not know of this opportunity to journey alongside a child in the education and discipleship process at God Cares Schools…transforming lives and taking more children off the streets who are hungry for love, hope and a future in their desperate circumstances. YOU can take the next step in spreading the word by hosting a small get together at your house or a given location and invite a couple of friends to get to know Buyamba.
Florence Dongo’s visit to the U.S. creates a perfect chance to get this opportunity off the ground. If you live in Southern California, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, or the Sebring/Orlando area of Florida, we want you to get involved! Please join us this spring and invite Florence into your home to meet some new and current Buyamba friends. It's an easy, relaxing way to introduce Buyamba and share your passion with your friends and family. We will provide you with a simple booklet called “Share Buyamba” that will give your guests a quick overview as they meet Florence over coffee, dinner, or a gathering of your choice. The idea is to share the passion that is within YOU to impact these lives. You can be God’s mouthpiece to share the powerful message that we have the ability within our means to achieve Buyamba’s vision to empower a generation to impact their nation for Christ.
I Want to Host an Event
Contact our Buyamba office today by clicking above and emailing Melissa Carlson for more information and to schedule this special time with Florence, as she makes the trip out to the U.S. to thank those who love her children. We will fully equip you. There are limited spaces and scheduling has begun.

For those of you in Conejo Valley and Ventura County in California, please join us at Waffle Wednesday next week for free food, games and entertainment on behalf of The Ross Group Mortgage company to support Buyamba Uganda! Sponsors and donors, this is a fun time to get together for fellowship and all will have a chance to look at the new “Shoes that Grow” and buy a pair of shoes for your sponsored kid ($15) and attach a personal letter inside to bless them. This is also a time to bring a friend to hear how sponsoring a child can make an impact on a life forever!

Hope to see you there! In case you live outside the area, or you're not able to make it, Waffle Wednesday will be streaming the event live on Facebook. Follow Waffle Wednesday on Facebook to be a part of the fun. Also, if you would like to find out more information on the "The Shoe That Grows" you can find it on our website, HERE.

Madison and Emily are two college students who heard about Buyamba through a family friend. As they began to build their business , Twelve2co , they knew they wanted to be able to give back. After researching Buyamba, they fell in love with our mission and the impact we are having on Uganda and decided to partner with us.

Twelve:2 is "two Aggies" coming together in a creative way to glorify the name of God with the mission to serve the people of Uganda."

Twelve:2 is based on Romans 12:2 which reads, " Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Madison and Emily are donating 20% of their sales directly to Buyamba in an effort to raise funds and awareness in their community. They are offering headbands and decals here: Twelve:2
Thank you Twelve:2 for being an example to us all of how we can make a difference with our skills, time, talents and dedication.
