Build God Cares East - Jinja
|
Although Jinja is known for being the third largest economy in East Africa with its sugar cane, steel mills, breweries, and tourist attractions centered around the Nile, Jinja also contains some of the poorest of the poor in Uganda.
The Dongo family, having seen the poverty and lack of quality schools, has picked the Jinja district to raise up the walls of hope among the urban slums and outcast villages. God Cares Jinja will be a boarding school and will house children and teachers in a community of love and hope for a brighter future. Buyamba owns a large piece of land in Jinja and the plan of the school and living quarters will be spread out in communities, rather than built up in five-story buildings as the God Cares Schools in Kampala. The education will be solid and the discipleship deep as it is empowered through the same Buyamba sponsorship and support that has been touching the lives of over 1500 kids in God Cares Schools. At our Nursery and Primary School campus in Kampala, boarding space has become limited. God Cares Jinja would support the education and ongoing boarding of the primary school children who need residential care at school. |
