Meet Rose

Our Newest Staff Member and Graduate at GCHS

We get very excited every time one of our Buyamba students grows from a young child to a responsible young man or woman in the program. Rose Nankumba is one of these children. She joined God Cares School in 2006 in Primary Two (P2). Her grandmother approached us after Rose’s parents separated and her mother couldn’t take care of her and her brother.

When Rose came to God Cares School, she was a timid young girl. After finishing primary school, she joined God Cares High School. She graduated in 2017 and entered African Renewal University in 2018. Though Rose started out as a timid young girl in 2006, she started seeing the woman leader God created her to be. She became the first girls’ Bible study leader of a ministry called “Delight Ministries” on her college campus. This U.S.-based ministry provided the material for their program, which is geared toward developing a Christ-centered community for college-aged women. Rose graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in October of 2022. We are all so proud of her! 

​We thank God that she now has joined God Cares School, not as a student, but as an Accountant. Rose remarked, “I have been offered an opportunity to work at God Cares High School as an accountant. I am willing to work with honesty and submission to God Cares High School and Buyamba Outreach Ministry. This is the only way I can give back to Buyamba Outreach Ministry, though I can never comprehend how good Buyamba has been to me."
